the.ego.tripper

so where to next?

Isn’t this the most difficult question: where to next? I would go anywhere, but obviously even the.ego.tripper has his preferences. Check out my bucket list:

  • Backpacking in Argentina (and Chile)
  • Road trip in Canada (BC & Alberta)
  • Traveling in New-Zealand for about 3 months
  • Getting married in Hawaii
  • Citytrip to Prague in winter time
  • Surviving Uzbekistan and other -stans
  • Hopping on the Trans Siberian Express
  • Island hopping in Croatia
  • Doing nothing on a beach in Sri Lanka
  • Watching the salt plains in Bolivia
  • Jungle trekking in Madagaskar
  • Hiking the Atlas mountains in Morocco

And now check out the actual travel agenda for the next couple of months:

  • A weekend in the Bruges area
  • Island hopping in Croatia
  • Attending Sziget festival in Budapest
  • A citytrip to Istanbul
  • New York, New York

I’d like to suggest the national parks of southern Utah, since you seem to like “outdoor” travel. It has the most incredible and varied scenery. Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef and Arches are so different.

I have two different sets of photos from two different visits, with a good 10 years between them.

Since I’m a fellow travel enthusiast, I’ll put you on my blogroll so I can keep up with your travels.

Thanks guys, suggestions are always welcome. I have been to Zion and Bryce though and I loved them. You seem to be right, I do seem to enjoy the outdoor travel. I will put Capitol Reef and Arches NP on my bucket list.

    Add Australia to the list!

I thought you already got married in Las Vegas?

    • http://theegotripper.wordpress.com the.e.t

Wow, you really are paying attention. You are right. But honestly, I would get married in Thailand too, or in Bali, Italy, Hawaii. Seems like a good idea to have a few different international marriage licenses. Of course I realize Hawaii and Vegas belong to the same country, but it doesn’t hurt to dream, does it?

      • http://travelspirit333.wordpress.com Travel Spirit

Oh…so you’re not married yet. But these are romantic places to get married?

  • http://theegotripper.wordpress.com the.e.t

First of all: I did get married in Vegas. More on that later, in a blogpost. I’ll show you pictures. But this marriage has no bureaucratic value in Belgium whatsoever. Which means I can get married in other countries as well (but technically not in the US anymore, so Hawaii is out of the question). Secondly, some of these places may not sound romantic to outsiders, but all of them mean something special to me.

No India on the list? The beach thing in Sri Lanka is a good idea…I’ve done it!

    • http://theegotripper.wordpress.com the.e.t

No, India is off the list since two months ago. I wrote two blogpost on India (‘In search of the tiger’ and ‘Beach number 7′).

Totally recommend Argentina and Chile and of course, my homeland – New Zealand!

The Canadian Rockies are really spectacular. If you do the road trip to Alberta and BC, be sure to include Jasper National Park for some jaw dropping mountains.

    • http://theegotripper.wordpress.com the.e.t

Jasper has been on the wishlist for quite a while now. I’m sure they are spectacular and I hope to witness that beauty soon.

Three months in NZ would be about right. Make sure you head to the Coromandel Peninsula during summer – a bit out of the way but it has the best beaches in the world (I promise!). And you could always head to Vanuatu to get married. I did!

Hey! I’ll send you Writer’s Retreat New York my travel guide for writers, bloggers & students. This way you’ll have a cozy cafe to sit in and update us ; ) . I can send you a print copy or one for your Kindle/Nook. Let me know.

    • http://theegotripper.wordpress.com the.e.t

Hi Juliet, thank you so much for the offer. Sounds brilliant! Although I must inform you I don’t own a Kindle and I don’t even know what a Nook is, but I’m guessing it’s something similar. I do however have an address, but it’s a Belgian one and it would cost you way too much too send a print copy here. Maybe I should think about buying a Kindle. I’ll let you know when it happens.
