Back to Bled

Alright peepz, listen up. I realize you’re all looking for a nice getaway for the summer months. What am I talking about, a nice getaway? Nice is for ordinary people, you guys are looking for a stunning getaway, aren’t you? But it can’t be too expensive, with the economy slowing down and all. So here’s what I’ve come up with: Bled. Let’s go to Bled this summer! Or back to Bled in my case. What or where is Bled, you ask? Good question and the answer is this: Bled is a small charming town in the Slovenian Alps. Please tell me you’ve heard of Slovenia before. If not, here’s my summary of Slovenia: good food, good prices, good people. And not too many tourists. Yet. Until all of the.ego.tripper’s readers go there…

Anyway, Slovenia only has one island and this island is situated in Bled’s famous lake. I know, it’s not like island hopping in Croatia or Greece, but it’s still an island and it’s still hoppable. And it’s stunning! Sheltered by picturesque mountains, the island reigns in the middle of an Alpine lake. Its charm has made it a symbol for centuries of a town to which guests from all over the world love to return. (sorry, I stole the last two sentences from http://www.slovenia.info, but I just couldn’t have said it better myself)

What you can do to keep it as low budget as possible, is stay at the wonderful Bled camping site, which is right next to the lake. If you want to spend a bit more money, enjoy Bled’s wellness facilities. And go rafting, or horseback riding (not me though, I don’t like horses), or paragliding. Or whatever activity you’re into. In the meantime don’t forget to make beautiful pictures.
