Your votes please

While my train stands still underneath Schiphol airport – yes I am on my way to Amsterdam for an interview with author Christopher Paolini (if you’ve never heard of him, you might have heard of google) – I would like you to know that the.ego.tripper has been nominated for a Belgian Weblog Golden Globe Award. Mind you, this is not the official title, but it definitely sounds cooler than Weekend Blog Awards, doesn’t it?

Anyway, I’m not one of those bloggers that would ask you to vote for him. But be careful, can you feel the Jedi mind trick coming? So, please, whatever you do, don’t vote for me here. If you do, you have to vote in about four other categories first, before you arrive at ‘reizen’, which incidentally means travelling.

I’ve nothing else to add. Frankly, if I hadn’t gotten this awesome news about my nomination, I would be depressed right now. Holland seen from a train is already horrendous, but it’s raining incredibly hard. And there’s a Scandinavian guy next to me who smells like fish, or lachs in his language. I’m about to cry. Please don’t vote for me. Thank you.

If that’s a bad view (I think I can see it now…) you make it look good.

But seriously, when you wrote Christopher Paolini, I was like, O.O “whaaaat? How’d you get to do that?” Seriously. Currently reading Inheritance.

He happens to be in Amsterdam to promote Inheritance. Just talked to him for an hour. Nice guy. I came underprepared though, since I only saw the movie and read a quarter of the first book. Just didn’t have enough time to finish after I got this assignment last week. He says hi to all of my readers by the way. And he signed a copy of his book saying ‘To the.ego.tripper, all the best with your own writing.’ And he says something like this as well (can’t figure it out): té om averdar sitja kvasa! Or something like this. Dunno what it means.

        That’s cute (what he wrote).

And the other thing he said sounds very similar to Se onr sverdar sitja hvass which means May your swords stay sharp. :D (I looked that up in Inheritance! Aren’t I clever?)

Now that makes sense! I didn’t figure it out yet. Thanks for the help.

Congrats on being nominated! We’ll be voting for sure.

Bummer, tried to vote, but there is no English! I tried to make do with one of the other languages, but it didn’t work out so well…Loved the blog though, and my son is very impressed that you are interviewing Christopher Paolini!

So, you’re saying you don’t speak dutch? Bummer indeed! Glad your son is impressed though. Sometimes ‘celebrities’ stop for an interview session in Belgium or Holland. I preferred my interview with Hilary Duff, she was better looking than Christopher Paolini, for sure. Her book was no good though.
